What is the best Lavender cologne?

Lavender is one of the oldest documented plants in the world. Ancient Egyptians used it in their embalming process, massage oils, and medicines.

Once known as spikenard, the Bible suggests lavender gained its beloved scent after Mary laid baby Jesus to dry on a bush.

Whether you’re after an alluring, relaxing, or refreshing experience, there will be an incredible lavender scent to suit you.

The best lavender cologne is one that perfectly captures the scent released when you rub lavender flowers between your fingers. Not all are sweet and floral: lavender is extremely versatile and could be classed as one of the best fragrance notes for suiting virtually every taste.

Here are 6 of the best lavender colognes to tempt you. None of them will disappoint!

Hugo Boss Bottled Night

Best Lavender colognes: Hugo Boss Bottled Night is one of them

It opens with a very sweet, powdery aroma of violets blended with the clean soapy scent of lavender. As it dries down there’s a definite note of birchwood which really complements the lavender.

It’s versatile enough to wear at any time, anywhere, so Hugo Boss Bottled could be a really great signature scent.

One thing I must mention is it doesn’t have great longevity and fades within 3 to 4 hours.

10 Ways to remove fragrance from your clothes without washing them

To remove perfume from clothing without washing, try out some of the following suggestions. For those that involve any sort of liquid, test a concealed area of the garment first to ensure it doesn’t stain or discolor.

Also, read the care label on your clothing labels first.

Peg outside to air

The easiest way to remove unwanted fragrance from your clothes is to hang them outside in the fresh air and sunshine. Pegging them on a washing line gets the best results.

The stronger the perfume you’re trying to remove, the longer you should leave your clothes in the breeze.

This may not be an option if you’re at work. In this case, take a walk to allow your clothes to air. If possible, hook your garment on a branch to blow in the breeze while you relax and read a book beneath it.

Buy an odor remover spray

There are numerous fabric freshener sprays on the market that are great for neutralizing the smell of fragrance on clothes.

Pick one that’s not too strong and that you actually like the smell of. An unscented one may be your best choice.

100% fragrance-free Febreze is an excellent choice and has been dermatologically tested.

Lightly mist on the areas of your clothes that smell of an unwanted fragrance and then air the item out for a while before putting it back on.

Rub with dryer sheets

Dryer sheets provide a perfect way to remove unwanted fragrances from your apparel. Just be sure you pick a pack with a perfume you can bear. you don’t want to eradicate one odor only to replace it with one that offends your nostrils more/

A quick fix is achieved by gently rub a dryer sheet on any areas of your clothes that smell of the fragrance you want to remove.

If you have the time, lay the sheets on the item of clothing and fold it over them. Leave as long as possible to allow the aroma of the sheet to infuse and mask the fragrance.

How to Remove Perfume Smell from Clothes Without Washing Them: Dress and dryer sheet

Pop them in tumble dryer

If you have access to a tumble dryer, even better! You can use it to literally evaporate the smell of fragrance from your clothes.

Obviously, you’ll want to check the garment is allowed in a tumble dryer in the first place and at what temperature too!

Set the temperature of the dryer to hottest allowed for the item, and tumble for 10 or 15 minutes. You could use one of your dryer sheets too.

Remove the item of clothing, and hang it up or put it on before it creases.

Use steam

For fabrics that are NOT dry clean only, steam can really help to remove the smell of lingering fragrance.

There are a few ways to steam perfume out of clothing. You can use steam from: steam cleaners, showers and boiling water.

The ideal way to use steam, is to hang clothing in a steamy room while you shower – ideal if you visit a gym.

If you have access to a steam cleaner, this can also be used – just make sure you only allow the steam to reach the clothing you are refreshing so you don’t end up soaking it.

Finally, steam from a kettle will work too. Boil a kettle and hold the item several inches above the spout to let the steam pass through it. keep yourself clear of the steam as it can easily scold you.

Apply alcohol

You’ll be surprised at how effective alcohol is at removing the scent of fragrance from clothing.

Pick a cheap, clear alcohol with the minimum smell: vodka is ideal.

Pour some in a small spray bottle and carefully spritz it over the area of your clothing that needs refreshing. Ideally, test an area that won’t show first – you don’t want to add any stains.

The alcohol will quickly evaporate, taking the fragrance smell with it – hopefully. You may need to reapply to remove stronger scents.

Sprinkle on baking soda

Baking soda is fantastic when it comes to absorbing odors, fragrance included. Simply sprinkle it onto the scented areas of any clothes you want to treat and leave it to do its thing.

Hint: the area must be dry!

When the baking soda has worked its magic, carefully shake it off. Don’t try to rub it as you’ll end up with white marks.

How to Remove Perfume Smell from Clothes Without Washing Them: Using baking soda
The baking soda does shake off!

Spray with vinegar solution

Vinegar is excellent or removing stubborn fragrances from clothes. especially if added to a wash cylce.

On those occasions where you quickly need to get rid of a fragrance smell without the use of a washing machine, vinegar can come to the rescue. Pick distilled white vinegar – not the malt variety!

  • Mix equal amounts of distilled white vinegar and water in a spray bottle
  • Turn the garment inside out
  • Spray liberally and leave until the vinegar has evaporated

Hint: test a small concealed area first, to ensure no staining occurs.

Give them some coffee!

We don’t mean in the liquid form! Ground, dry, coffee beans can absorb all sorts of odors quite effectively.

To remove the smell of fragrance from an article of clothing:

  • Place dry, ground coffee in a cotton bag or sock and tie it up
  • Place the bag or sock of coffee in a large bag with the article of clothing
  • Leave for as long as possible
How to Remove Perfume Smell from Clothes Without Washing Them: Use coffee

Spritz with diluted lemon juice

Another great way to quickly remove perfume from clothing that doesn’t involve washing them , is a lemon spray.

It’s easy to make – in a spray bottle, mix 1 tablespoon of pure lemon juice with 1 cup (8 fl oz / 240 ml) of water.

Turn your item of clothing inside out, spray liberally and leave to dry. Make sure you’ve tested it doesn’t stain or remove color first though.

Conclusion – How to remove perfume smell from clothes without washing them

If you need to remove the smell of perfume from your clothing but don’t have time to wash them, there are several ways to achieve this goal.

Some will work better than others depending on the type of fabric and the intensity of the fragrance.

Hopefully, one of these methods will tide you through until your next laundry session – or get you out of a sticky situation.

What Are The Best Car Air Fresheners That Last?

Buying an air freshener for your car shouldn’t be difficult – and it’s not! However, what is a problem is buying one that not only smells good but lasts more than just a few days.

The problem behind this is that air fresheners are on all the time – so it’s a lot harder to find one that will last more than just a few days.

Typically, most car air fresheners are really quite terrible. I know this as I used to continually buy all different types of them! That was until I decided to start a mission, a mission to find the ultimate car air fresheners that actually last!

How are we rating Car Air Fresheners?

We’re keeping it as simple as possible as indeed, what we want is very simple. In fact, there are just four things that we were looking for:

  • Pleasant fragrance – does it smell nice? There’s no point in having a long-lasting air freshener for your car if it smells like your cat’s bottom.
  • Longevity – the fragrance or aroma-removal process needs to last for a long time. This can vary depending on the price but whatever the cost, it needs to be more than just a few days.
  • Cost – if the air freshener smells great but costs as much as Creed then we’re not interested. It’s got to be worth the money!
  • Environment – in this day and age, one must consider the environment. If possible, we will always favor environmentally friendly products.

So, there isn’t really anything else that needs to be said – let’s just get on to what you want to see. Any of the following air fresheners are good and you won’t be disappointed with any of them – that’s why I haven’t put them in a ‘Best-of’ list.

So, without any further ado – these are our recommendations for long-lasting car air fresheners.

What are the best car air fresheners that last?

Below are my 3 favorite air fresheners for cars at this moment in time.

Anzano Car Essential Oil Diffuser

I’ll be honest with you – whether the air freshener looked good wasn’t a rating factor when looking at what’s available.

However, this particular product did look good and is made from 100% stainless steel, not plastic. I do need to clarify a point about this type of freshener though as it’s not just a case of putting it in place and leaving it.

You will need to use a couple of tiny drops of essential oils every few days. However, this is hardly a big deal and most people keep these oils in their glovebox.

Whilst we’re on the subject of essential oils, you will need to buy these separately. So, what you’re buying here is the foundation and something that should last you a long time considering how well it is made.

Also, something you can try with this is to not actually use essential oils but use cologne as this seems to last a bit longer – but this isn’t down to the product itself, more the fragrance.

Car Air Fresheners That Last

Regarding the environmental impact – you may look at this and wonder how it’s in any way good for the environment. Well, it’s a good point as first glance may make you think that it’s not recyclable.

However, the reason why I included this product, despite this, is because of the materials used in its construction.

This product should last a long time so unlike products that may last you a few days/weeks or months before you need to throw them out, this could actually last you years.

If you’d like to take a look at this item, do click on the link below which will take you to the item on Amazon.

Purggo Air Freshener

What stood out for me when I was first looking for these car air fresheners was that this one seemed to focus on the environment – which immediately made me want to read more.

The Purggo air freshener is chemical-free and contains no plastic. In fact, the Purggo is made from 100% bamboo charcoal that has been said to naturally absorb odors.

Therefore, with no chemicals, this air freshener is not only safe for the environment but safe for your kids too!

The bamboo charcoal works in a similar way to a sponge. As particles pass through it, they are trapped by the charcoal surface itself. Therefore, this product doesn’t just mask the nasty smells, it can eliminate them.

Car Air Fresheners That Last

Another reason why I liked this product was the amount of time it will last. This product can easily have an effect for more than a year.

But, what happens once it’s time to replace it? Well, as its construction is bamboo charcoal, and hemp, it can be used as a natural fertilizer for your plants!

So, whereas other air fresheners for your car will simply mask those nasty odors, this will remove them.

You won’t get a particular fragrance, just an absence of nasty ones, and actually, how do you get those nice fragrances – from chemicals! Which is what this product does not use.

If you’d like to know more then take a look at the product using the below link, it’s not just me that raves over this product – check out those reviews!

Maison Berger – Refillable Car Vent

Anyone who is into nice fragrances and cologne’s will be familiar with the Lampe Berger brand and with this product coming from them, you would imagine the product would be of good quality. In this instance, your assumption would be correct.

They have a few different fragrances available but I would recommend this one, the ‘Heavenly Sun’ variety. However, as it’s refillable, it’s up to you to try different scents, according to your taste.

It’s not overpowering though like some (it has a light intensity of 2 out of 5 so it is suitable for people who are sensitive to scents within an enclosed environment).

Car Air Fresheners That Last

The diffusion time is around a month, which is better than some but not as good as I’d like.

The reason why this product is in this list is that it is of exceptionally high quality so I was prepared to make an exception in this case. It’s easy to fit and is just a conventional clip onto your car air-vent.

If you’re interested in checking out the reviews and what other people say about the product (or would like to buy it) – do check out the article below.

Gulaki Car Diffuser

Now for something a little different. The Gulaki car diffuser is designed to slot right into the cup slot in your car – so if you don’t have one of these then this might not be the best one for you!

It looks different – because it is different and comes with USB ports (plus a cigarette-charger type), why didn’t anyone else think of that? So, you can charge your phone whilst having a nice smell at the same time!

The Gulaki will hell with humidity (which can be a problem when using air conditioning). It also comes with some intelligence – it will automatically turn off when the water level (used for humidifying) drops below a certain level.

Car Air Fresheners That Last

How it works is actually quite simple. Add water to the ‘cup’ with a few drops of your favorite aroma – and you’re away. Remember though, as this is a dehumidifier and not just a diffuser, it won’t last as long as some others.

In fact, I’ve found the water to run out after just a couple of hours. So, you will need to remember to have some water and some essential oils to keep it topped up.

Summary

There are literally hundreds of fragrances one can purchase for your car. I’ve bought a lot, usually the cheaper variety.

They are not cost-effective and most of them have an overpowering chemical smell attached to them. So, although they do mask the more unpleasant smells within your car, that’s simply because their chemically-induced alternative smells more.

If I was going to suggest one to you, it would be the Purggo car air freshener. I like how it’s made and the fact that it uses natural ingredients to get the job done. Whichever one you decide to go for, you really shouldn’t be disappointed!

What is The Best Perfume For Older Women in 2023?

There seems to be a belief that at a certain age you should stop wearing certain fragrances when really it’s your life and you should wear whatever you feel suits you and makes you happy.

What is the best perfume for older women?

The ideal perfume for older women is one that’s not too girly sweet and sugary. A fragrance with a sophisticated soapy or powdery smell absolutely suits the older generation but doesn’t have to be one that deserves the name ‘old ladies perfume’.

Perfumes seem to be marketed at the younger generations leaving older women unsure of what to wear. Ultimately, what makes a perfume best for an older woman is subjective and, of course, it doesn’t have to be one particular type – it just has to suit the wearer’s tastes and personality.

The ideal way to choose a perfume is to take a trip to your favorite store with a trusted friend to give you a second opinion on any you try.

For this article, we have selected popular and iconic perfumes with a range of profiles and prices that will definitely suit mature women.

The 10 best perfumes for older women in 2020

1. Dolce & Gabbana The One EDP

Perfume for older women: The One

The One by Dolce & Gabbana is a modern take on a classic oriental floral, combining fruit and a classic white flower palette. It’s a beautiful perfume that can be worn day or night.

When you first apply it, you’ll notice a zesty and sweet fruity smell that comes from a combination of mandarin, bergamot, sweet peach, and lychee.

The heart of this fragrance is intense and feminine with a mix of Madonna Lily, plum, and jasmine.

Warm notes of vanilla, amber, and musk make up the beautiful and sensual base of this modern take of a classic floral scent.

There’s a powderiness in the base notes of this perfume that give it a grown-up and sophisticated feel. No woman should be afraid to wear Dolce & Gabbana The One no matter what age she is. It really can be worn by the young or old.

2. Giorgio Armani Code EDP

Perfume for older women: Armani code

Armani Code for Women is a sophisticated scent that is versatile enough to wear from day to night and is appropriate for a woman of any age.

The initial aroma is of orange blossom and ginger, followed by jasmine and seringa flower. The long-lasting base is a mix of lavender, honey, sandalwood, and vanilla.

Though The One is classed as a floral perfume, it’s neither too feminine, too floral nor too sweet. The honey in the base, it’s apparent amongst the orange blossom scent as soon as you apply this fragrance.

This is a lovely feminine floral a mature woman can confidently wear without fear of feeling too girly.

3. Mon Guerlain EDP

Perfume for older women: Mon Guerlain

Mon Guerlain is a wonderful infusion of French lavender, Sambac Jasmine, Sandalwood, and Vanilla. It comes in an iconic bottle that has been used by Guerlain since 1908.

It opens with a hint of bergamot and a beautiful fresh lavender aroma. This is underpinned by a warm, sensual sandalwood and vanilla base.

It’s a beautifully feminine sweet gourmand perfume that is truly delicious to wear. The lavender gives this fragrance a timeless, classic feel that’s grown-up and mature but in no way granny-ish.

4. Lancome La Vie Est Belle EDP

Perfume for older women: La vie est belle

La Vie Est Belle translates to life is beautiful and just as this is true at any age, this perfume can be worn by a woman of any age.

This Lancome classic opens with a fruity note of blackcurrant and pear. The heart is a floral combination of iris, jasmine, and orange blossom. It dries down to a base of patchouli, tonka bean, vanilla, and praline.

La Vie Est Belle is a fruity oriental fragrance. The vanilla and sweet praline give it an almost edible aroma whilst the iris make it oh so elegant and classy. It’s a perfume any older woman can rightfully wear.

5. Guerlain Mitsouko EDP

Perfume for older women: Mitsouko

I own this Guerlain classic, Mitsouko and my mother, who is in her 70s wears it too, so I’m happy to say it’s perfect for older women.

Perfume For Older Women: Vintage Mitsouko
Vintage Mitsouko

Mitsouko is a fruity chypre fragrance that debuted in the early 20th Century. It has undergone many reformulations and today is an alluring mix of peach and jasmine that dries down to a long-lasting base of cinnamon and vetiver.

The top note is fruity and is made up of peach, bergamot, lemon, mandarin, and neroli. The middle note is very flora, combining lilac, rose, yang ylang, and jasmine. The rich base is a complex combination of cinnamon, vetiver, amber, oakmoss, patchouli, and cedar.

Mitsouko is definitely a perfume that suits older rather than younger women. It creates a mature and grown-up, long-lasting impression. It is also surprisingly strong so use it sparingly!

6. Nina Ricci L’Air du Temps EDP

Perfume for older women: L'Air du Temps

L’Air du Temps is a classic and possibly one of the world’s most recognizable perfumes. The name translates to ‘the air of time’ which basically means fashionable at the moment. This perfume is definitely timeless.

It was created post World War II and was designed to inject femininity and romance back into women’s lives which it does via its array of beautiful ingredients.

It’s classed as a floral fragrance and it’s obvious why when you see the fragrance notes:

  • Top Notes: rose, peach, carnation, neroli.
  • Middle notes: gardenia, jasmine, rose, ylang ylang, orchid, lily, orris.
  • Base notes: ambergris, musk, vetiver, benzoin, cedarwood, sandalwood, cardamom.

L’Air du Temps has a powdery scent that will forever remind me of my very glamorous grandmother and is a perfume any older woman can gracefully and confidently wear.

7. Yves Saint Laurent rive gauche EDT

Perfume for older women: Rive Gauche

I have a soft spot for Rive Gauche as it’s the first perfume I ever owned. An older, beautiful, sophisticated family friend used to wear it and I wanted to replicate her!

Rive Gauche means left bank of the river and alluded to the left bank of the River Seine in Paris, an area that was quite hip and boho in the late 1960s and early 1970s.

It is a beautifully soapy, flowery fragrance with top notes of aldehydes, bergamot, and peach; middle notes of rose, jasmine, geranium, lily of the valley, orris, and ylang-ylang; base notes of vetiver, tonka bean, sandalwood, moss, musk, and amber.

For me, Rive Gauche is nostalgic and I can’t resist sampling it whenever I see it. Its floral, soapy note makes it very wearable for women of an older generation.

8. Oscar de la Renta

Perfume for older women: Oscar de la Renta

We’re on to another of my favorite perfumes of which I still own a bottle today: Oscar by Oscar de la Renta.

Perfume for older women: Vintage Oscar
Vintage Oscar

Oscar is a beautiful timeless classic floral perfume created in 1977. It has an abundance of ingredients that give it a strong, powdery floral aroma with a spicy edge.

There are so many fragrance notes and I honestly can’t single out any (I’m smelling it as I write this) but together they make Oscar a truly unique and expensive-smelling perfume.

In case you’re interested, apparently, Oscar contains:

  • Top notes: Bergamot, Clove, Coriander, Cascarilla, Basil, Peach, Gardenia
  • Middle notes: Iris, Jasmine, Tuberose, Ylang Ylang, May Rose, Lavender, Orchid, Broom, Lily of the valley, Galbanum, Honey
  • Base notes: Clove, Sandalwood, Amber, Myrrh, Patchouli, Opopanox, Vetiver, Castoreum, Oakmoss, Cedarwood, Musk, Ambergris

I do feel Oscar is classy, powdery, and flowery, so for this reason, I say it would suit women in their later years rather than younger ladies.

9. Estee Lauder Youth Dew

Perfume for older women: Youth Dew

Estée Lauder Youth Dew is a 1950s classic worn by several of my glamorous aunts in their senior years.

It has fragrance notes of orange, bergamot, peach, aldehydes, clove, cinnamon, mimosa, rose, ylang-ylang, orchid, jasmine, frankincense, amber, vanilla, tolu, benzoin, oakmoss, musk, patchouli, and vetiver.

The aldehydes give Youth Dew that classic soapy fragrance that really suits older perfume wearers. It’s a timeless classic that really has stood the test of time.

10. Yves Saint Laurent Opium EDT

Perfume for older women: YSL Opium

Funnily enough, though I’m recommending this perfume for older women, it’s one I chose as an 18th birthday present! I haven’t worn it for quite a while but every time I smell it I’m catapulted back to that era.

Opium by Yves Saint Laurent is not a shy fragrance by any stretch. It’s a powerful oriental scent to be worn by someone who likes to make a statement. It’s definitely better for evening wear.

The fragrance notes of Opium are many:

  • Top notes: Bergamot, Plum, Mandarin, Clove, Coriander, Pepper, Bay
  • Middle notes: Lily of the Valley, Carnation, Jasmine, Rose, Ylang Ylang, Myrrh, Cinnamon, Peach
  • Base notes: Vanilla, Amber, Patchouli, Frankincense, Cedar, Musk, Myrrh, Sandalwood, Vetiver

The notes I love in Opium are plum, lily of the valley, and spicy cinnamon. This flowery spicy oriental perfume is voluptuous and decadent and would suit confident older women who know they still have the right to wear whatever they like and be noticed.

The best perfume for older women – Conclusion

There is absolutely no reason for older women to rule out any particular perfumes – age is, after all, just a number. If you love a particular perfume, it doesn’t matter if you’re age 60, over or under – just wear it! I hope you find one in this top 10 to love.

Cinnamon Fragrances

10 Best Fragrances For Teenage Girls For 2023

Teenage girls seem to discover fragrances before teenage boys. I don’t know why that might be – however with so many different types of fragrance available and targeted to this particular demographic, it can be very difficult to find the right type of perfume for her.

There are many things to look out for and it would be easy to just fall back onto the more popular brands. This is an all too common mistake though and there are many fantastic fragrances available to teenage girls from slightly less-known brands. Another advantage to this is that they are the vast majority of times a lot cheaper also!

To help you understand some of the terminology (it’s not hard):

  • Top Notes – this is what you smell when you first apply the fragrance. These are sometimes known as ‘head notes’ and will consist of the strongest, freshest scents.
  • Middle Notes – also referred to as ‘heart notes’ – these are usually scents that are more rounded than the top notes and usually replace the top notes after 15 to 20 minutes.
  • Base Notes – this is what’s left once the heart note dissipates. It is common not to be aware of the base notes until around 30 minutes after applying the perfume.

So, sit back, and let me do the work for you. Here, are the 10 best fragrances for teenage girls for 2020 – enjoy!

10) Jessica McClintock

Whereas some fragrances are obviously designed to be shared between guys and girls, Jessica McClintock is most definitely a fragrance designed for girls. It is floral, sensual and warming.

Initially, after spraying, you are greeted with a citrus scent in the form of bergamot, tart, blackcurrant, cassia (the spice made from the bark of East Asian evergreen trees) and basil.

The top notes are nice but can’t compete with the heart notes. Jasmine, rose and lily provide a floral explosion just when you thought it was fading. These transform after 20 minutes or so with the bass notes which are musky and earthy. A lovely balance of woody-flora scents will then stay with you for many hours after.

This isn’t a particularly new fragrance on the block. It’s established and well-received, as you will see by the reviews if you click on the link below.

9) Light Blue (Dolce & Gabbana)

When you buy something from Dolce & Gabbana, you expect quality. You also expect to pay a high price but that’s not the case with Light Blue. I wouldn’t say it was exactly cheap, but it’s also not exactly high-end expensive! For what you are getting here, this is actually quite good value for money.

The initial top notes are apple and cedar, a combination that seems to work really well. Just as you’ve become familiar with it, you’ll start to get hints of jasmine and white rose. This is followed up with the base notes that consist of musk, amber and citronwood. This will stay with you for several hours.

Dolce & Gabbana’s Light Blue is a lovely scent for the teenage girl. It’s relatively cheap, has a great name and a great fragrance. Check out the reviews and you’ll see how happy other buyers are with this!

8) Cool Water (Zino Davidoff)

Zino Davidoff’s Cool Water is for those girls that love something fresh. You’re initially hit with a fruity, fresh blast of pineapple and watermelon. This will linger for some time but certainly not in an offensive, overpowering manner.

The top notes are eventually replaced with more delicate floral hints with definite lily hints. Later still, a deeper woody smell is complemented with blackcurrant notes.

This is another one of those fragrances that have been around for over two decades and still smells as fresh now as it did then. Another big positive Cool Water has is that it does not cost a lot! You have to wonder how such a great scent could be sold for such a great price!

7) Calvin Klein Contradiction

Not the only CK perfume I’ve included in this list but I couldn’t leave it out just because I have another one here!

Calvin Klein’s Contradiction is a feminine scent, which is convenient as this is, after all, an article about the best fragrances for teenage girls!

After you spray on your neck or wrists you will love the immediate fragrances of rose, jasmine and lily which are replaced with more floral heart notes a short time later. You may also notice pear blossom, orchid and eucalyptus which fades into sandalwood and tonka (a raisin-like legume).

This is a wonderful smelling fragrance so see what other people think of it by clicking on the link below or grabbing yourself a sample next time you pass a fragrance store!

6) Calvin Klein CK One

It would almost be a crime to not include CK One in a list like this. Although, I have to say I was a little tempted to ignore it considering it’s on the more expensive side of the scale.

Calvin Klein’s CK One is one of the most recognizable fragrances available and this is simply because so many people use it. So many people use it because it smells so good!

CK One has an unmistakenly fresh smell. Its top notes consist of mandarin orange, pineapple, papaya, bergamot, cardamom and a hint of lemon.

The middle notes will hit you around 15 minutes after application and if you know what you’re looking for (err smelling for) you’ll get orris root (this is a name for the roots of Iris germanica and Iris pallida), jasmine, lily, rose and nutmeg. If you can pick out all of those then you’re in the wrong occupation!

The base notes, which will stay with you for several hours after application are musk, cedar, oakmoss, amber and sandalwood.

You won’t be disappointed. Well, you won’t be disappointed with the fragrance. It’s certainly a long way from one of the cheapest fragrances but you get what you pay for with this – highly recommended.

5) Lucky You

‘Lucky You’ is a fragrance you may not have heard of but I would really recommend you give this one a go. There’s a good reason that I rated this so high and that’s simply because it smells so good!

This is a fragrance that is popular in the summer but I’m not sure why it’s not fashionable all year round. Initially, after spraying, you’re greeted with a light grapefruit scent with green leaves and hyacinth to make it a fresh and floral (but subtle) experience.

The middle notes won’t hit you for some time but when they do you’ll be rewarded with poppy, jasmine and other floral notes. Considering the price, none of these scents will give you any reason to not believe this is a more expensive fragrance.

The base notes (otherwise known as dry notes) will provide you with long-lasting sandalwood, musk and amber.

This is a fragrance that doesn’t have to be just used for nights out. Its long-lasting scent will keep the teenage girl smelling great for most of the day without requiring frequent top-ups!

4) Fantasy Britney Spears

We may not hear as much of Britney as we did 20 years ago but don’t write off this fabulous construction of hers. Well, when I say ‘hers’ I can’t really imagine her in a lab somewhere experimenting with different fragrances in test tubes! Whoever created it though – they did a good job.

Once sprayed, you’ll find it opens with a fruity scent of kiwi, golden quince and lychee. If you like this then enjoy it until it diminishes after around 15 minutes and is replaced with a heart of white chocolate and jasmine. This gently mellows into woody, musky notes combined with orris root.

Considering how some ‘celebrity’ perfumes seem to have over-inflated prices, Fantasy Britney Spears is remarkably good value for money. Its recommended use is during the evenings rather than during the day – save it for special occasions!

3) Jimmy Choo

Certainly not one of the cheapest fragrances available but I can’t leave this one out, despite that. It’s that good.

Jimmy Choo is quite a rich fragrance that will give you a lovely warming feeling inside after application. Immediately after you spray it behind your ears or on your wrists (recommended spray-on points) you will smell orange (apparently sweet Italian orange but I’m not sure I could distinguish Italian orange against French orange).

The top notes are complemented with Pear nectar. Again, if I didn’t know what it was I’m not sure I would have said, ‘oh, that smells like pear nectar!’ – no, but it does have hints of pear, which is nice.

The top notes are followed around 10 minutes later with the heart notes – definitely a hint of orchid here but it’s a very subtle blend. After an hour or so, smell the base notes and you won’t be disappointed – the longevity of this perfume is maintained via a gentle toffee and Patchouli (if you didn’t know, this is a rather bushy herb).

Jimmy Choo has been around for around 25 years now but certainly hasn’t aged badly!

2) Tommy Girl (Tommy Hilfiger)

Tommy Girl by Tommy Hilfiger is an extremely popular fragrance for young women. Unless it smelt great and didn’t cost a lot then it wouldn’t be so popular, simple as that. Launched back in 1996, it’s almost 25 years old now but still retains a fresh, modern appeal to many.

After application, the first scents to hit those nostrils will be blackcurrant, orange, camelia (a flower) and apple tree blossom. As soon as you’ve absorbed this, the heart notes will start to take effect (well, 15 minutes or so later). Honeysuckle, mint, grapefruit, lily, lemon and some rose.

A cacophony of scents will inject your sciences with warmth and sensuality, you won’t be disappointed.

It doesn’t end there though. The base notes, the ones that linger for the longest amount of time are leather, sandalwood, cedar, jasmine and magnolia.

Don’t be put off by the name. This is a very popular fragrance and as I said earlier, there’s a good reason for that. This is a great perfume, check out the reviews and take a look yourself below.

1) Beyonce Heat Rush

Beyonce’s Heat Rush is another one of those celebrity perfumes that you wouldn’t be surprised to discover was pretty average. Not so the case with this one, Heat Rush has gone down very well in the market since it was introduced back in 2010. So much so that I couldn’t resist putting it at number 1 on my list of best fragrances for teenage girls!

There’s no mistaking the femininity of this scent. It’s also been described many times as warming and you definitely get that impression straight away.

When you first spray Heat Rush on your neck, you will discover top notes of a distinct fresh nature. Passion Fruit Sorbet, cherry and orange hit you hard but in no way overpower your nose. After 10 to 15 minutes you’ll start to sense the heart notes. Orchid, hibiscus and mango are the identifiable scents and are followed up with some deep base notes. These consist of teak wood, musk and honey amber.

This is a fragrance that can be used during the day or in the evening, it’s very versatile and incredibly good value.

Conclusion

I hope you’ve found some new fragrances in the list above. I know not all of you will agree with the number one spot but it would be pretty boring if we were all wearing the same fragrance, right?

At the end of the day, there are hundreds and hundreds of fragrances out there that might work with teenage girls but I’m pretty confident that after a considerable amount of research – these are the best 10! You can’t go wrong with any of them!

15 Best Fragrances for Teenage Guys in 2023

It’s an exciting time for guys when they first discover that they have so many different fragrances at their disposal. I’m not talking about a few dozen or so here – I’m talking about hundreds and hundreds of different fragrances that they have to choose from!

When you’re looking for the best cologne for young men it’s very easy to make the wrong choice – especially if you have no experience in the subject matter! It’s easy to end up with the wrong one and for the scent to either be overpowering or to just not suit the age of the individual wearing it. Also, some of these fragrances can cost an absolute fortune!

Guys use cologne to enhance their appearance. It’s like buying a nice, new crisp shirt or wearing some clean, expensive-looking sneakers. Not only does it make them look good but it makes them feel good too.

A decent fragrance in a teenage guy will not only enhance their presence in front of those they are trying to impress but it usually increases their confidence! If the wearer knows that they look and smell good, it will show in the way they walk, the way they talk and how they are perceived by others.

It is common not to be aware of the base notes until around 30 minutes after applying the fragrance.

Allow us to take the effort away from you. Don’t make the same mistake that so many do and choose the wrong fragrance. Here are our top 15 fragrances for young men. We have our favorites, of course – but let me asure you – you won’t go wrong with any of these!

15) Chesapeake Bay Spyce Cologne

A refreshing cologne that I think suits daily application during the spring or summer months. Chesapeake has a nice, subtle smell that doesn’t suffer from the somewhat sickly smell you can often get from other colognes. It’s not overpowering and will accentuate rather than dominate your appearance.

Although Chesapeake Bay Spyce Cologne is not usually associated with the younger user I really don’t think this should be the case. To me, it adds a sophisticated maturity to the user and shouldn’t be ruled out.

It’s a bit spicy, it’s very manly – what else could a teenager ask for in 2020?

14) Sauvage – Christian Dior

A relatively new scent (established in 2015) but one that has taken off big time is Sauvage, by Christian Dior. Although there is an aromatic fragrance, this has been a favorite for teen guys for some time.

Initially, you will be greeted with a whiff of pepper and bergamot and further musky notes. This is quickly followed up with lavender, geranium (hence the floral scents) and more pepper. Eventually, you are left with cedar notes that linger. I’d say that this scent lends itself more to the Spring/Summer due to its crispness but is a great fragrance to really pick yourself up if you’re feeling low during those long, dark winter days.

Another reason why guys like Sauvage so much is that it lasts for so long. No, it may not be the cheapest cologne available (check on the price by clicking the link below) but with this, you’re certainly getting what you pay for!

13) Adidas Moves

Another positively masculine fragrance for the teenage guy is Adidas Moves. What I liked about this was that it offers you something different from a lot of the rest. More floral than others but somehow it keeps its masculinity.

Definite notes of ginger ale, cedarwood geranium and other woody scents greet your nose in a very nice and certainly not overpowering manner. I would suggest that you would need to apply more regularly than some and it is unlikely that the lovely smell would last a full day.

An interesting option this from Adidas. You typically associate them with all things sporty but this scent goes to show they can offer more than just that.

12) Polo Blue – Ralph Lauren

It just wouldn’t feel right if I didn’t include a list of great colognes for guys without including something from Polo. But I certainly wouldn’t if it wasn’t deserved and I think this one most certainly is!

Polo Blue is a crisp, fresh cologne and is certainly not a shrinking violet. It is not subtle but if you can deal with a strong scent (at least initially) then this could be the one for you. Don’t get confused between strong and overpowering though! Polo Blue is by no means sickly and soon after application, it will settle down nicely.

You shouldn’t have to carry it around with you also as Polo Blue can last most of the day. A happy fragrance for the teenager who doesn’t want to have to keep applying every few hours!

11) Nautica Classic

Nautica Classic fragrance is both relatively cheap and very popular, for a very good reason. This particular variety has been around for about 30 years now and this should tell you a lot. Many fragrances are like music, a track popular in their day but listen to the same track 10 years later and it makes you wonder why anyone bought it!

This isn’t the case with Nautica though. Its subtle musky fragrances are refreshing but certainly not overpowering. To the distinguished nose, you will find hints of lemon, sage and lavender.

Nautica Classic is indeed just that, a classic fragrance that just doesn’t seem to get boring. Its scent will last a long time on you and is ideal for a daily-use fragrance on teenage guys.

10) Davidoff Cool Water

For those teenagers who like something a little different, Davidoff may the one for you. A fragrance more suited for daytime use than evening, this is a cologne that has a crisp, sharp and fresh smell.

You’ll initially be struck with a minty, musky smell with tones of lavender and amber. This gives us a warmly, masculine smell that sets itself apart from other scents. It also won’t cost you a fortune so you definitely won’t have to worry about how many times you’re applying.

Davidoff Cool Water is these days a classic and the sheer number of positive reviews (click on the link below to see what I mean) will tell you everything you need to know about this very popular cologne.

9) Versace Man Eau Fraiche

You might expect a product from Versace to cost you a small fortune and usually, you might be right. Versace’s Man Eau Fraiche may just be an exception though.

A vastly distinctive aroma to other fragrances, this cologne is surprisingly fresh. You are hit initially with Carambola (a fruit you may not have heard of) but this clashes (somewhat pleasantly) with rosewood and lemon. Then, notes of cedar leaves escalate alongside tarragon and sage. Finally, you are finished off with sycamore wood, amber and musk.

As you can probably gather from the above scents, this is a masculine fragrance and doesn’t try and be anything else.

8) Acqua Di Gio (Georgio Armani)

A long-time favorite of mine, Acqua Di Gio has earned its place high up on this list. So many fragrances blend into each other it’s difficult to distinguish them. A few have a distinctive scent and these are the ones that traditionally do well – Acqua Di Gio is one of these.

The scent is crisp and has an immediate hint of wood with marine after-notes. I don’t quite know how they do this but it’s definitely identifiable. You will also be able to identify various citrus notes including orange, bergamot and lemon.

This is one of those scents that is hard to dislike. It’s just a really good cologne so if you’re thinking of buying someone a fragrance and you’re not quite sure what they will like – this is a good choice!

7) Armani Code (Giorgio Armani)

With some scents, you can definitely describe them as being either for a man or woman – not so much with Armani Code though. For those guys that want a more masculine scent, this could be the one for you.

I’d definitely recommend this as a daily scent rather than for special occasions and when you apply it you’ll be rewarded with a woody smell with lemon, Bergamot and Olive.

Armani Code is a great fragrance for men that don’t want their scent to dominate the room. It’s subtle and certainly not overpowering. I think it’s this that I like – it doesn’t shout at everyone ‘Look at me!’ – it does the job but in its own, very special, way.

6) Calvin Klein One

The classic CKOne – it wouldn’t be right for me to leave this one out and is another favorite of mine. It’s popular, it’s not expensive and it is loved by guys and girls alike.

The smell of CKOne is distinctive and these days is very recognizable. With the base notes of musk, cedar and sandalwood combined with after notes of further amber and musk ensure that this fragrance provides a warming, confident glow to any that are fortunate to wear it.

You may also pick out some orange, pineapple and cardamom. How they discover that the combination of all these different scents works so well together is anyone’s guess but they’ve definitely stumbled on the magic formula with this one!

A longer-lasting scent than many others, you will not usually need to top-up during the day with CK One and if you’re just using it for the evening you’ll definitely be just fine.

5) Explorer Men’s Solid Cologne

This is for those of you who like to just be a little different. Not only does it have a unique scent – it looks different also. You don’t spray it on, you just open the tin and apply with a finger when required to the neck area (or elsewhere). It’s also a lot easier to carry around than your regular glass bottle of cologne!

The fragrance itself doesn’t let the aesthetics down. Definitely another masculine scent which includes bergamot (which produces a citrus-type smell), jasmine and grapefruit. Some have also found hints of peppermint but I wasn’t able to find this.

You do pay a little more for this than you might with other fragrances but at least in this case, I think you get what you pay for.

4) Tommy (Tommy Hilfiger)

Tommy, by Tommy Hilfiger, is one of those well known cologne’s that people expect to have a modern, crisp fragrances that seem to be all the rage these days. These people would not be disappointed and this cologne really delivers what many expect.

The first spray gives you some lovely lavender, mint, lemon and bergamot top notes before hitting you with an unexpected cranberry heart. This is complemented with some cheerful rose and apple scents. Finally, you get the amber and cotton base notes that linger for some time.

This is a very good quality cologne that can be found at a very reasonable price and can be used daily. It’s a classic that’s been around for a fair few years now but unlike some, has aged very well.

3) Dolce & Gabbana Light Blue

A firm favorite amongst teenage guys is Light Blue by Dolce & Gabbana. Not only does it provide when it comes to what it’s designed to do (smell great) but it’s also got a great label behind it too.

Light Blue can be described as spicy and vibrant. Citrus notes, with the help of bergamot, mandarin, grapefruit and juniper will hit your nose initially. These are followed shortly after with a woody scent that is made by using rosemary, pepper and wood. Some traditional base notes of musk and oakmoss complete the package.

Despite the great smell (and that’s why it’s so high on this list) it does need applying more often than not. This is not a scent that you can put on first thing in the morning and you’ll still be getting compliments in the evening. Because of this, I would suggest that Light Blue is best used for evenings out!

2) David Beckham Homme

With a cologne that has a name after a former (very talented) professional soccer player, you can be pretty sure who the target audience is – teenage males. It doesn’t disappoint.

The first spray will hit you with strong notes of pepper and grapefruit. After, a wave of wood and leather come together perfectly along with some undertones of musk.

David Beckham’s Homme is a unique cologne that fits this target audience perfectly. If I’m forced to find something negative to say then it would be that I wish it would have lasted a little longer. This means that it might be best suited for evening use as opposed to daytime use – which isn’t exactly a bad thing. This is a special cologne and should be kept for special occasions!

1) Jimmy Choo

My recommended cologne for teenage guys is Jimmy Choo. This has been described as a modern scent. I didn’t understand quite what this meant – until I first smelt it and then you realize. It’s fresh, aromatic and woody initially which is followed by lavender notes and followed by a fruity smell, not dissimilar to melon.

Eventually, you are left with a woody smell with hints of suede – definitely a masculine scent and due to its freshness, very well set for a teenage guy.

Oddly, with such a distinctive, vibrant smell, you still can’t describe it as overpowering. Another thing you will notice is how long the scent lasts. You will find yourself getting compliments for how good you smell 12 hours after application!

Conclusion

At the end of the day, we’re all different and life would be boring if we all liked the same things. There are literally hundreds of fragrances out there but many just aren’t suited for the typical teenage guy.

In 2020, most guys want something a little different from what they wanted only a few short years ago and I think I’ve reflected that in my list above. I don’t believe you could go wrong with any of these fragrances personally – they are all excellent.

I just hope I’ve helped in a small way to make the decision-making process a little easier!
